A senior member of the royal family will probably attend the funeral of Pope Francis, said a royal expert following the death of the pontiff.

According to a report by AFP, Pope Francis died on Monday at the age of 88, one day after having made a highly hoped for the place of Saint-Pierre on Easter Sunday, the Vatican said in a statement.
