Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, said he was forbidden to protect the Argentinian striker from the Touche line in Inter Miami matches.
Cheuko acquired general recognition after social media videos showed it closely by watching the crowd to prevent the potential pitch invaders from harming the winner of the Ballon d’Or.
“They no longer allow me to be on the ground,” said the bodyguard quoted by the Spanish media.
“I was in Europe for seven years, working for Ligue 1 and the Champions League, and only six people invaded the field. I came to the United States and in just 20 months, 16 people have already done so. There is a huge problem here, let me help Messi.”
Major League Soccer said on Tuesday that its protocols concerning the team security guards had not changed, and several teams had appointed team security guards who are parked near the field benches on the field.
