Most parts of Pakistan continue to feel hot and dry, with an increase in temperatures expected in the coming days. However, the meteorological department has planned rains accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in certain regions of northern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the latest opinion, dry conditions are likely to persist in a large part of the province, in particular in southern districts, where heat will be more intense compared to other regions.
Meteorological experts have indicated a possibility of precipitation in certain parts of Chitral, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra and Swat, accompanied by winds and lightning in bursts. These areas were also witnessed of shower dispersed the day before.
The precipitation recorded the day before included 14 mm in DIR, 9 mm in Kalam, 4 mm in Drosh and 3 mm each in Patan and Balakot.
Temperature readings have shown stifling conditions in key cities with a Peshawar 35 ° C recording, Dera Ismail Khan 39 ° C, Bannu 35 ° C, while the cooler conditions prevailed in hilly areas with Kalam at 16 ° C, Malam Jabba 18 ° C, Chritral 22 ° C and DIR 26 ° C.
The authorities advised residents, especially in southern KP, to remain hydrated and limit external activity during peak hours. Weather conditions should remain similar in the next 48 hours.
