- Meta Plans New Small Business Branded Tools to Help Drive AI Adoption
- It will attack the approximately 250 million SMEs who use its various platforms.
- No product or roadmap has been disclosed at this stage
Mark Zuckerberg launched the new Meta Small Business program designed to help entrepreneurs and small businesses use AI.
By Axios According to reports, the new SMB-focused feature comes as no surprise, with Meta having long relied on the small businesses of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp – so it was inevitable to further monetize these customers in the age of AI.
It is estimated that around 250 million small businesses use Meta platforms worldwide, giving it a large potential customer base.

The project centers around a desire to reduce barriers to entry both for AI tools and for businesses in general. The goal is to make it easier than ever to start and run a business, whether it’s a small-scale side hustle or the seed of an idea that has the potential to grow.
“In the age of AI, it should be easier than ever for people to start new businesses,” Zuckerberg reportedly wrote.
“We want to create the services that enable this. This is important to ensure that people widely share in the prosperity created by superintelligence.”
While the precise roadmap remains unclear, it is likely that Meta Small Business will include features such as automated ad creation, AI-based customer service for extended SMBs, advertising and social media content generation, and data-driven AI-driven analytics and insights to give business owners clues on how to scale.
While Meta’s other tech giants go after high-revenue businesses, Meta relying on more low-revenue SMBs could differentiate it in the near term and help make it a leader.
Focusing on SMBs will allow Meta to go further into an end-to-end suite that supports entrepreneurs throughout the journey, from creation and advertising to sales and customer interaction.
With reports circulating that the company could cut thousands of jobs, any upcoming announcement could also include the new roadmap for small businesses, including the potential rehiring of any affected staff under this new vision.
