On Wednesday, the city recorded intense heat and humidity, with midday hot winds creating heat wave conditions.

The humidity levels increased to 68%, which makes it feel about five degrees Celsius warmer than the actual temperature.

According to the Pakistan meteorological department, the maximum temperature recorded in the city was 37.1 degrees Celsius. Due to high humidity, however, the temperature felt closer to 42 degrees Celsius.

A spokesperson for the Meteorological Department told L’Express PK Press Club that sea breezes prevailing continuously in the city.

Nevertheless, the combined effect of the increase in temperatures, increased humidity (up to 65%) and low winds contributes to current thermal wave conditions.

According to the forecasts issued by the early alert center of the meteorological department, Karachi can expect stronger winds than usual.

However, the weather should remain extremely hot and dry, the maximum temperature potentially exceeding 41 ° C.

Meanwhile, light rains are expected in several Sindh districts, including Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Badin and Tharparkar.

Despite the risk of rain, most regions of the province should feel hot to very hot and dry accompanied by strong winds.
