Mexican Billionaire Ricardo Salinas Remains Bullish on Bitcoin After Fall

Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas, one of the country’s richest people, was unfazed by the recent drop in the price of bitcoin.

“Take advantage and buy now while prices are falling,” Salinas said in a Sunday X article. “Investing in Bitcoin means protecting your money against inflation and keeping it out of the hands of those who want to steal it from you.”

The longtime bull’s comment follows Bitcoin’s fall in recent months to its current level of $66,000. Salinas shared the post alongside an old clip of him defending Bitcoin’s ability to support freedom, doubling down on a position he has held for years.

Salinas, whose net worth is estimated at around $4.9 billion, is one of the most vocal Bitcoin advocates in Latin America. In previous interviews, he has described fiat currency as a “fraud” and called bitcoin “the only way out” of preserving purchasing power.

In an interview last year, he said 70% of his cash was tied up in bitcoin. The remaining 30% consisted of gold and shares of gold mining companies.
