Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons mocked his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, and condemned owner Jerry Jones in a series of social media posts Thursday.
Parsons shared a report on a recent quote from Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, who suggested the team’s defensive decline in 2025 was due to Parsons leaving the team via a trade before the season.
“Obviously you have an All-Pro passer who wins very quickly. [Parsons] this will definitely help any defense if it’s Micah or if it’s Myles [Garrett] or whoever. But that impact player is still going to help to some extent on passing and other downs,” Eberflus said Thursday.
“Again, you can’t look back, can you? It is what it is, and then you just focus on where you are.”

Parsons shared the post on X with a series of laughing emojis.
Parsons then posted another message on X, specifically targeting Jones, alleging that Jones had “slandered” him.
“Y’all want to make me feel bad? Jerry Jones has been smearing my name in the Cowboys media and in the national media for months. So I think I can respond by commenting if I want to!” Parsons wrote.
Before the Cowboys traded Parsons to the Packers in August, the star linebacker made a public statement announcing he had requested a trade, saying he “didn’t want” to be in Dallas anymore, largely because of Jones.
“I no longer want to have closed-door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want to be shot at for getting injured while putting it all on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want stories created and spread in the media about me. I purposely remained silent in hopes of getting something done,” Parsons wrote at the time.
In July, Jones made comments about Parsons’ durability after the linebacker was injured in 2024.

“He was seriously injured six games last year,” Jones said. “I remember signing a player for the highest-paid position in the league, and he was out two-thirds of the year in Dak Prescott. So, there [are] There are a lot of things you can think about, just like the player, when considering committing and guaranteeing money.”
Jones later claimed during an appearance on Cowboys Legend The Michael Irvin Show in August, he believed the organization had reached a deal with the two-time All-Pro defensive end before Parson’s agent cut it.
“When we wanted to send the details to the officer, the officer told us to post them on our a–,” Jones claimed.
“Micah and I talked, and then we were going to send it to the agent. We had our agreements on the length, the amount, the guarantees – everything. We were going to send it to the agent, and the agent said, ‘Don’t bother because we have all that to negotiate.’ Well, I had already negotiated that. I had already deviated from my benchmarks in several areas.”
Jones added that “we had negotiation in mind.”
“The officer is trying to stick his nose in right now and try to step in and improve on what we had already said,” Jones said.
“This would have made him the highest paid guaranteed player, other than a quarterback, in the NFL.

“The world would know I want Micah if they knew what I offered him. And they know what I offered him. Then the world would know that I want Micah to play on the team and respect him for what he can bring to the team.”
The Cowboys missed the playoffs this year, going a 30th straight year without reaching the Super Bowl. Their difficulties were largely due to their defensive deficiencies.
Meanwhile, Parsons suffered a season-ending injury.
