Once, Michael Fassbender was in a race to play 007 emblematic spy in Casino Royale.
But during the hearing, the actor instead of publishing his name pleaded for Daniel Craig, who then played the character.
“I met Barbara Broccoli just by the way, and I actually went for a hearing phase before Daniel was thrown,” he recalls in an interview with the Happy sad confusion podcast.
But, the star of Steve Jobs added that he thought that his chances of leading the race were weak.
“I don’t think I was never in the mixture,” he said. “But I remember entering this room and meeting in a way with it and Wilson, and I said to myself: ‘I think Daniel Craig is …’ I don’t know why I was promoting it. I should have promoted … I was terrible in auditions.”
Michael, meanwhile, also delighted Daniel. “Obviously, Daniel did a fantastic job and continued, I think, to be the most successful link in history.”
“That’s all, really. There has never been a conversation after that, “he concluded.
