Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has accused her lawyers of siphoning off large sums of money from her estate, as several lawsuits are poised to dent the King of Pop’s estimated $788 million fortune.
Paris filed a motion in Los Angeles Superior Court demanding a full accounting of legal fees after noticing “irregular payments” made by the executors of MJ’s estate, John Branca and John McClain.
“As painful as it is to write, the current documents suggest that a group of closely related and highly compensated lawyers are exploiting the lack of oversight of the executors to extract money from the estate, in plain sight,” his lawyer wrote in a lengthy document.
“Worse still, these payments appear, at least in part, to consist of lavish bonuses given to already well-paid lawyers,” he added.
The executors of the estate have denied the allegations and claimed the money was spent defending various lawsuits against the late singer.
A close source revealed the state of affairs with the Jacksons, saying: “This is a family crisis. The fear is that when you have a potential payment of $400 million, what will the heirs be left with?”
“And what a lot of people don’t know is that they’re still trying to make things right with the IRS, who have been chasing them over Michael’s money since his death,” the mole continued, according to Radar online.
This comes after Paris also criticized the upcoming Michael biopic, calling it “fiction.”
“Paris doesn’t help matters,” our source said.
“They are trying to generate revenue, and she is disparaging the film, claiming the estate is misusing the money and causing another financial headache that could cripple the family,” they added.
