Michelle Yeoh shared that she almost turned down her role in Bad for good because she was afraid of singing live.
During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The 63-year-old Oscar winner explained that she had no personal connection to the musical before director Jon M Chu contacted her.
When she read the script, Michelle was immediately concerned about the singing. However, she told Chu that she did not sing professionally but he encouraged her to trust herself and give it a try.
Even after accepting, the Everything everywhere at the same time The star said she felt nervous about performing alongside Hollywood’s biggest names like Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Additionally, Yeoh also admitted that when she started her role in The Wizard and Ishe was so tense that she even squeaked at her first notes.
The star thanked her co-star Erivo for giving her strength, saying he held her by the arms and reassured her that she could do it.
In another interview with VarietyYeoh reflected on her fears and said she expected to be recast once the team heard her sing.
Instead, she ended up having fun and found that the experience was much less scary than when she started filming.
She said she had a great time and was grateful for the support around her.
Before Michelle Yeoh was cast for the character, the team looked at several other actresses for Madame Morrible, including Jennifer Lopez, Hannah Waddingham, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Imelda Staunton and Angela Bassett.
