- Windows 11’s cumulative update in February 2025 has arrived
- It contains a multitude of remedies, including the resolution of an automatic HDR bug that spoiled the colors and crashed the games
- Important audio fixes are also present, and the remedy for an unpleasant problem with webcams
Windows 11 has a new cumulative update, and it causes important fixes for bugs that have embarrassed many people.
The Bleeping computer identified the version notes for the February 2025 update for Windows 11 which emerged yesterday and should be available on PCS now. This is Patch KB5051987 for Windows 11 24:2, but if you are still at 11:2 p.m., it’s KB5051989.
The update heals one of the (many) bugs that players have found very frustrating, by which the colors are spoiled by HDR Auto feature. This has now been resolved, as did the accidents of the games that have been reported due to this problem, too.
Another major correction here is for the bug that has killed the audio output of those who use an audio DAC (digital-analog converter Use a DAC).
DAC or No DAC (I feel an idea for a game coming), the bug was crushed with the new update, just like another audio problem which caused an error “ this device cannot start ” (well Whether it’s a less common problem, and not the one I have heard of before).
Finally, remember the problems with USB webcams where they were not detected correctly? You can also embrace goodbye to these camera misfortunes, because Microsoft tells us that this bug (caused by the cumulative update of January 2025) is now one thing in the past.
Analysis: Correction of the holes where the bugs enter …
You may remember that the HDR auto fix has arrived in the preview update for January (an optional case at the end of last month), so the good news is that it did not cause any Problems in the final test steps, and can therefore now be applied to Windows 11 PCs at all levels.
In addition, it should be noted that the compatibility that has been placed on PCs that would have been affected by this bug has now been lifted, so if your computer was prevented from grabbing 24h2 because of this Gremlin, you should be able to get the big Update soon.
That you still wanted to take this jump, this is another question, of course, because 24 hours ax was quite problematic in terms of various bugs manifested since its launch.
I hope that we are at worst of all this, however, and as we can see here, Microsoft is now working at a good pace to solve the various problems that affected Windows 11 users who have moved to the latest version ( which is now underway with a wider deployment).
