- Windows 365 Reserve is a new web -based PC cloud backup for your physical laptop
- Users can access the service for 10 days a year
- Price not confirmed, preview to come
Microsoft has unveiled a new service designed to provide temporary and preconfigured Cloud PCs to customers when a main physical device is out of order – whether losing, breaking or delay.
The Windows 365 reserve gives users instant access to Cloud PCs from any device via the Windows application or browser, and they are ready to use, Microsoft 365 applications, business settings and relevant security policies.
Managed via Microsoft Intune (such as physical PCs), the Windows 365 reserve is designed for temporary use only, with an annual use of 10 days (which can be divided or used at the same time).

Microsoft says that the new service is designed to ensure the continuity of activities during events such as peripheral flights, loss, delivery days or system failures. With temporary access, workers can continue because normal or administrators can choose to test new configurations far from their own main device.
The company describes the Windows 365 reserve as a “modern, secure and scalable offer designed for any type of worker throughout the organization to remain uninterrupted and productive, without the hassles or the cost of management of bulky loan PCs, temporary backup PC solutions or inherited VDI access.”
Microsoft Modern’s work vice-president Stefan Kinnestrand said 76% of customers said they’ve been affected by appliance flight incidents over the past two years, citing third-party research.
No price details have yet been confirmed, and it is not clear if the service will operate on a subscription -based model. Windows 365 Reserve is available in “soon” previews, with an online application process so that customers have early access.
At the same time, Kinnestrand raised the envelopes of other minor improvements to Windows 365 while introducing a 20% discount for new customers.
