- Microsoft has a new Windows Ai Labs program
- The objective is to accelerate the development of AI functionality for Windows 11
- Initially, it is only for the application of paint, but other applications will be included over time
Microsoft has launched a new diagram to test the features of the AI in Windows 11, starting with the paint application.
The latest Windows reports receiving an invitation to new “Windows Ai Labs”, which is a program for incoming beta intestation features (separate from the existing Windows 11 versions, which are deployed via four different channels).
The offer to join the program was presented to the technological site when opening Microsoft Paint, and although it is initially just for this application, it will be presented to other applications in the future.
The rod confirmed the new program, receiving a declaration from Mike Harsh, who is a partner director of product management at Microsoft. Harsh explained: “The Windows AI laboratory is a pilot acceleration program to validate new IA functional ideas under Windows. The program focuses on rapid customer comments on functionality conviviality, customer interest and market adjustment.”
The opportunity to join is only offered a small number of testers at the moment, apparently, with the range undoubtedly extended to a later date. Windows last explains that the registration process does not even work yet – and the deployment of the offer that occurs now seems to be an error.
However, this happens clearly quite early given Microsoft’s confirmation of the decision.
Analysis: More AI for Windows 11
One thing that it tells us is that there will soon be new features of AI to come to paint, an application that has already seen arriving (they could well be exclusive to Copilot + PCS too). The idea seems to be for Microsoft to have these capacities tested more quickly so that he can make decisions about the opportunity to continue with them or not in a timely manner.
Of course, this will come with the usual warnings attached to any beta test. The new features of AI can be bank in one way or another, and you may find them going wrong (maybe even badly, since this effort is focused on “quickly” to obtain things for the comments). The features can also be deleted, as far as everything in tests cuts the final version of a given application.
Microsoft is obviously eager to push the features of the AI as part of the reader to sell Copilot + PCS, currently emphasizing the attention of those who leave Windows 10 when he reaches the end of life early. It is therefore not surprising to see the company that seeks to accelerate the development of these capacities.
However, some Windows 11 users are frustrated by Microsoft adding AI garnishes when these people simply want existing repaired features (coughs: performance explorer performance), or even the addressing of basic options that still lack (like keeping the taskbar from the bottom of the screen).
