Microsoft has begun rolling out its first internally designed AI chip, Maia 200, to selected data centers, a step in its long-running effort to gain more control over its infrastructure stack.

Despite the move, Microsoft’s CEO made it clear that the company has no plans to move away from third-party chipmakers.
