- AI improves productivity to Microsoft – and could threaten jobs after all
- The company claims to save $ 500 million using AI in call centers
- Microsoft dismissed thousands of workers in 2025 alone
Microsoft has said that artificial intelligence now saves business money in sales, customer services and software engineering.
The reports said that during a recent company meeting, Microsoft’s commercial director Judson Althoff revealed that the company had saved more than $ 500 million in its call centers, thanks to the implementation of artificial intelligence, while simultaneously improving the satisfaction of employees and customers.
The direct effects of the AI on the workforce remain uncertain, but Microsoft has laid off thousands of workers recently since surviving during the pandemic, and it seems that the efficiency gains induced by AI have only won the effects.
Microsoft saves huge thanks to AI
Artificial intelligence now manages Microsoft interactions with smaller customers, generating tens of millions of income with a reduction in human contributions.
In addition to using AI in customer -oriented roles, Microsoft has also deployed generative AI coding tools through the development of new products and existing updates. About a third of the Microsoft code is now generated by AI, putting the company equally with its giant technology colleague, Google.
With Microsoft which should soon publish its latest quarterly report, we do not see how financial performance has been affected by its use of AI.
However, the last quarter, the company posted a 13% increase in income, with CEO Satya Nadella commenting: “From AI infra and platforms to applications, we innovate through the battery to deliver our customers.”
Microsoft has been in a battle for pole position as the most precious society in the world in recent months. Although often exceeded by Nvidia, there are several billion dollars in front of Apple.
More broadly, Microsoft is not the only company to make productivity gains. Salesforce, a company that has also been hard on generative AI and agency AI, now reports that around 30% of its internal work is managed by artificial intelligence.
