Microsoft has unveiled the next generation of Copilot + PC surface devices for business and business users, the new offers firmly planting AI and the center.
The new surface and surface laptop offers “a significant jump in X86 performance”, according to the company, providing increases in performance and productivity alongside a stimulated NPU for AI tasks focused on business.
The launches include a new surface laptop available in display options of 13.8 inch or 15 inch, alongside a professional improved surface for those looking for something a little more flexible.
Surface computer for business
“Customers today choose Copilot + PCS surface to improve performance, battery life and safety,” noted Nancie Gaskill, director general of the surface.
“Associated with Microsoft 365 COPILOTI and an improved AI processing power, these devices transform the experience of employees to amplify the efficiency and creativity of your team via COPILOT + PC Experiences designed for work.”
Officially known as the surface Pro 11th Edition and Surface Evecate 7th edition, the two new versions are available with the latest Intel basic processors (series 2), but users will have the possibility of Intel or Snapdragon devices.
Microsoft has also revealed that customers will soon have the possibility of a 5G compatible surface device, with a brand new 5G surface laptop arriving later in 2025 to give users even more connectivity when it is on the go.
In addition to its Intel power, the new surface laptop for business includes up to 22 hours of battery life, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, added ports and even a customizable haptic strike alongside a larger touchpad.
Microsoft says that despite the slightly smaller dimensions on paper, its 13.8-inch display in fact offers a larger visualization space than other 14-inch screens on the market due to ultra-thin glasses and also has ‘An anti-reflection screen for additional intimacy.
The improved device also offers an increase in major performance, with Microsoft demanding up to 26% faster performance when several tasks, up to 2x faster graphics performance, and even up to 3 times the life of the Battery during team calls.
At the same time, the device has a powerful NPU which, according to Microsoft, in fact the ideal workpmor, the tools and the power functions such as the new Windows “Descriptive Search” function on the Local files and OneDrive, click to do and Microsoft teams upgrades such as “Super resolution” and live legends in more than 40 languages.
