Karachi:
Former finance minister Miftah Ismail said on Sunday that privatization alone would not be enough; The energy sector also needs regulations suitable for people and improving national and local governance.
Addressing a conference entitled “Progress of power: affordable energy for industry and inclusive growth”, Ismail said that electricity supply is a highly regulated sector that needs urgent reforms.
The conference was followed by major industry figures, public energy, political and media institutions. The purpose of the conference was to present practical suggestions for an affordable and reliable power supply and inclusive economic development.
