Karachi / Islamabad:
The former Minister of Finance and the Secretary General of the Pakistan Awam Party (APP), Miftah Ismail, pulled a large side against the policy of solarization of the government and the levy of the net measurement tax, pulling the scathing refutation of the Minister of the Power Awais Leghari on Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference at the Party Office in Karachi, Ismail accused the Prime Minister of taking a tour of solarization policy, saying that the government first encouraged people to install solar counters at home, but now the net measure has been abolished and replaced by a raw measurement.
In response, Leghari said that Ismail’s criticism was based on “false and baseless figures”, adding that because of government policies, solar energy due to 4,000 MW, which would be brought to 12,000 MW in the next eight years.
Ismail told journalists that the government had lied when he said solar energy users get free electricity. “Now people have been informed that the sales tax would be deducted from all the units produced by solar panels,” he added.
“This will increase the electricity bill and the public will not attract the benefit of solar,” said the former Minister of Finance. “This strategy is a policy reversal of the federal government, which is a kind of U -tower,” added the chief of the AAP.
Ismail said that the Coalition Government led by the Muslim League of Pakistan (PML-N) found the consumption of 1,300 gigawatts of public electricity or solar energy users, but added that he could not see the waste of electricity during production and distribution.
“In fact, only a dozen people in Pakistan are a burden for the public and the country because they cost the very expensive electricity in Pakistan,” he said, mentioning the purchase of electricity at an exorbitant rate of independent electricity producers (PPI).
Ismail also blamed the government of the rise in sugar prices. He also criticized the party of the peoples of Pakistan (PPP) for opposing the channels, saying that the PPP had trouble saving his bank. He said that people were not provided the real water data.
“I ask my brother Bilawal Bhutto and my sister Maryam Nawaz, which happened to you during the electoral campaigns on free electricity supply up to 200 and 300 units,” Ismail told journalists.
Later, in a press release, Leghari said that Miftah Ismail was trying to induce the people by inducing the people by presenting “false and baseless personalities”. He added that the government has encouraged the public to install solar panels. “User contracts of the existing net measurement will remain according to the old prices,” said Leghari.
“In many countries, the price of the net measurement is adjusted so that there is no unnecessary charge for the national network and the economy. With mutual consent and consultation, IPPS contracts have been examined, which leads to an economy of 1,500 billion rupees,” said the minister.
Last year, the share of clean energy in the national network, including Hydel, solar, wind and nuclear, was more than 55%, he continued. Over the next few years, the clean green energy report would reach 85%. “Pakistan should be proud to have a clean green energy network,” said the minister.
