Shiffrin recorded a total time of 1:39.10 after coming down the hill with a time of 47.13 on her first run and 51.97 on her second. She catapulted to the gold medal and added to Team USA’s medal total.

After a disastrous run at the 2022 Beijing Games, Shiffrin managed to keep her composure and put together an incredible run to win the gold medal. But she had to wait a few agonizing seconds because the two competitors in front of her failed to complete the course.

Shiffrin locked in and even gained time on her competitors in certain parts of the course. She leaned back, almost in disbelief, realizing the incredible moment she had experienced.

Not long ago, Shiffrin had a shocking exit at the 2022 Games, where she failed to reach the podium in any of the alpine skiing events, despite being considered one of the all-time greats in her sport. Now she can call herself a triple gold medalist.

She is the second Olympic skier to win gold twice in this event.
