Miley Cyrus revisits it Hannah Montana her roots for the first time in two decades, and she brought her father Billy Ray with her.
The 33-year-old posted images on Tuesday from an upcoming birthday special marking 20 years of Hannah Montana premiered on Disney Channel.
The trailer opens with Cyrus returning to the show’s iconic set for the first time in years, taking in the familiar surroundings with a silent “Wow.”
She is later seen rummaging through a rack of originals Hannah Montana costumes alongside her mother Tish Cyrus, and at one point appears donning Hannah’s iconic blonde wig, striking the character’s classic finger-to-lips pose for the camera.
“It’s like home to me,” she says at one point in the clip.
Perhaps the most talked about moment in the trailer is the appearance of her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, 64.
The father-daughter duo are seen bumping bodies and smiling together, a particularly warm image given the very public tension that has characterized their relationship in recent years.
The couple’s difficulties began following Billy Ray and Tish’s divorce.
Miley addressed family tensions in a social media post in 2025, in which she set the record straight on reports about her relationship with her mother and spoke directly about the situation with her father.
“My father and I have faced challenges over the years,” she wrote at the time. “Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I am at peace knowing that bridges have been built and that time has contributed a lot to healing.”
The trailer also teases a sit-down interview as part of the special. THE Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special will premiere on Disney+ on March 24.
