Our Mini PC Maker Maker, MinisForum, has unveiled its next mini workstation, MS-S1 Max.
As an increasing number of mini PC, the new version is built around the Ryzen AI Max + 395 processor, part of the Strix Halo family, offering 16 Zen 5 cores and integrated graphics Radeon 8060S.
What is interesting, however, is that the processor here will extend up to 160W, which is higher than most mini PCs of Stix Halo, which culminated at 120W. To keep the temperatures under control, the system uses a double fan cooling design associated with six heat strings.
Double USB4 V2 ports
There are a few other features that distinguish MS-S1 max. It includes a complete PCIe X16 location, allowing users to install a discreet GPU. This means that the system can be configured as a compact workstation or at the AI workload scale which requires more power.
The MS-S1 Max also has USB4 V2 USB4 ports, each capable of transfer speeds of 80 Gbit / s. This puts it equally with Thunderbolt 5 in terms of bandwidth while keeping the Familiar USB-C form factor.
In addition to this, Minisforum includes two 10 GB Ethernet ports for high -speed networking.
The power supply is managed by an internal high efficiency diet of 320W certified for safety. As integrated, users need only one cable connection, keeping the simple configuration.
The design of the chassis supports tools without tools, with a slippery construction that facilitates upgrades and maintenance – something that we always seek in a good mini PC.
Ministerum says that the MS-S1 MAX can operate in office configurations or as part of clusters mounted in rack, allowing several units to be connected for shared computer tasks.
The company notes that the MS-S1 Max is designed for IA workloads. It is described as supporting large -scale models up to 109b settings.
Not all specifications have been revealed – there is no mention of memory or storage capacity in promotional material, although we have seen clues concerning a possible AI max + 395 beast of 128 GB, which is probably this.
There is also no word for the moment with regard to prices or world availability.
