ISLAMABAD:
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Friday informed the Senate that the Universal Service Fund (USF) continues to develop telecom facilities in remote areas of the country.
Responding to various questions during Question Hour, the minister said the temporary suspensions of internet and mobile services in some areas were imposed purely for security reasons.
“These suspensions are very limited and strictly in the national interest,” he said, adding that the government had already ensured that data packages do not expire during these suspensions.
