Minister of information sent Saudi on anti-beggar measures

Islamabad:

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that new passports regulations were introduced for beggars and illegal immigration, and that strict measures have been taken against organized beggar networks.

Naqvi met the Saudi ambassador Nawaf Bin Saeed Ahmed al-Malki at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia and discussed key questions of mutual interest, including collaboration in the economic, social and security sectors.

Stressing Pakistan’s determination to combat transnational crimes, Naqvi stressed the country’s lively interest to work closely with Saudi Arabia to combat drug trafficking and human smuggling.

The Minister noted that the new passports regulations were presented to the begging of sidewalk and illegal immigration, and that strict measures have been taken against the networks of organized beggars.

Naqvi recognized the entry without visa for Saudi citizens in Pakistan as a reflection of the close ties between the two nations.

He praised Saudi Arabia’s participation in the recent anti-narcotic conference of the Pak-Gulf Cooperation Council.

Naqvi expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the ambassador for their constant support to Pakistan, in particular in the fields of economic assistance and social development.

He expressed a particular assessment for the instrumental role of the Saudi government in the guarantee of the Liberation and the safe return of five members of the Pakistani family involved in a drug case.
