The Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Lynx offered their condolences in response to the shots of two state politicians and their spouses.

The president of the Democratic -Agressor Party – Labor (DFL), Emerita, Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark Hortman were fatally slaughtered in Brooklyn Park by a suspect who usurped the identity of a police officer, police announced.

In a related shooting, the senator from DFL John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were also slaughtered in Champlin.

“The Minnesota twins are horrified and the heart broken by the murder of representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark and the attempted murder of Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette,” said the twins statement. “Our deepest sympathies to the Hortman family, and our prayers are with the Hoffman family for a complete recovery. We are holding with all minnesotans to condemn these insane acts of violence.”

“Our organization worked closely with the two legislators and appreciated their functions as civil servants. President Emirita Hortman has been a friend of the Vikings for over 15 years and a huge head of state who worked tirelessly to make Minnesota a better place for all residents,” said the Vikings. “She was a mother, a woman and a friend who really cared for people and relationships. Our prayers are with the Hortman family when they give this tragedy and with all the officials of the government who cry the loss of a colleague and a friend. We hope for quick and complete recovery for Senator Hoffman and Yvette and security for all members of the application of the law.

“These insane acts should not have any place in our communities, our state or our society. We must all condemn equivocal political violence, reject the hateful division and deliberately work towards mutual respect, compassion and unity.”

Before their match against the Sparks of Los Angeles, the lynx held a moment of silence.

“(The match) seems fairly devoid of meaning, certainly, hitting this near his home,” said Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve before their match, via ESPN. “Today is a difficult day all around. Basketball is what we are doing. We are going to go there and do what we are doing. But God knows what, when our game is finished, God knows what we are going to get out of the field and learn what’s going on. It’s disgusting.”

A shelter prescription on site was issued within a radius of 3 miles from the Golf course in Edinburgh.

The suspect wore a black body vest, a badge, a taser and seemed indistinguishable from the real application of the law, the police said. He also led a police style SUV with flashing lights.

“Our state lost a big leader,” said Governor Tim Walz during a press briefing on Saturday morning, describing the incident as an “inexpressible tragedy”. “President Hortman was someone who served the people of Minnesota with grace, compassion, humor and sense of service. She was a great civil servant, an element and a giant in Minnesota. She woke up every day determined to make this state a better place. She is irreplaceable and will miss so many minnesotans.”

Walz was “prudently optimistic” about Hoffman and his surviving wife. Both were shot down several times.

“It was an act of targeted political violence,” said Walz. “Pacific discourse is the foundation of our democracy. We do not settle their differences with violence or under the threat of a weapon in the state of Minnesota.”
