Isabelle St. Cyr, a competitor of transgender beauty competitions who participated in Miss Maine USA during the weekend, spoke of an interaction with Jordon Hudson behind the scenes.
Hudson was the second finalist in the competition in the middle of a few tumultuous weeks that started when she closed a question for her boyfriend Bill Belichick on the way the two met. The interruption took place during the Belichick CBS interview on his new book in which he described Hudson as his “creative muse”.

St. Cyr said that the conversation with Hudson focused on media control that they both received in the competition.
“We had a conversation behind the scenes and we said to ourselves:” You know, the media were not necessarily nice to us. “In a way, we talked about the way we treated it, how to move forward, how to stay positive and when commenting and not commenting:” St. Cyr told people in a story published on Tuesday. “I really appreciate his desire to tell me about the media coverage.”

St. Cyr deplored media coverage and said they expected negativity because “that’s how people get clicks”. St. Cyr said Hudson helped her realize that they were not alone in this regard.
“And she admits that a lot of backlash have always presented themselves in the competition that evening to compete, and I too, with a lot of reactions and many people who say that I should not be there.”
Shelby Howell, from Bangor, was appointed Miss Maine USA.
St. Cyr, from Monson, was semi-finalist. Hudson, who represented Hancock, won the “Style” prize.
Hudson seemed to have a message for criticism during the event. She was asked how she was going before embarking on her answer.
“I feel a huge amount of pride right now,” she said via Mass Live. “I hope that whoever looks at this finds the strength to pass through everything they live and embody that hatred never wins.”
When asked when she wanted to return, Hudson said she wanted to be able to be transported to her family fishing boat.

“I often think about it because there is a massive exodus for fishermen who occur in rural areas of Maine, and I don’t want to see more fishermen leaving this place,” she said. “As the next Miss Maine USA, I would be a point to go to the communities … to go to the government and defend these people so that they do not have to consider these memories as a past moment.”
