The New York dishes withdrew David Wright’s n ° 5 earlier this month, and the star stopover Francisco Lindor had a seat at the ceremony.
Lindor, 31, said it was “so cool” to see the Wright number withdraw. The Quintuple All-Star spoke to PK Press Club Digital of the special day of Wright, and what it would mean for him if he was one day named Captain.
“It was so cool, to be here for five years, I had the opportunity to see Keith Hernandez, Doc, Strawberry, and now David Wright’s number is withdrawn. He was definitively special as people greeted, the way people loved him, and Lindor told PK Press Club Digital the last week in the end of Miracle Day.

“It was special to see him, how much he put in this franchise and how fans gave him back.”
Lindor is a logical choice to be the next Captain of the Mets, and Wright has talked a lot about the star stop before his jersey retirement ceremony.
“I love Francisco Lindor,” said Wright via Sports Illustrated. “I got to know him in the past two years. I recently discovered that he had played at the end of the season with an injury in hand, and no one knew it. He never said anything because he wanted to be there with his guys.”

Lindor said that if he had been appointed fifth captain in the history of the dishes, he would not take him lightly.
“(The captain is something) I would not take for granted and something that I would not take lightly, it would be a great honor,” said Lindor.
The double Gold Glover said that if he was appointed captain, he would not change the way he approached himself.

“It would be an honor and a privilege, I would not change the way I am, I would do the same thing, I would continue to travel the way they followed, and be as I said, a huge privilege, a huge honor,” said Lindor.
The 31 -year -old Star Stop again has another strong season for dishes. Lindor has an average of the stick of .251 with 20 circuits, 59 products produced and 17 stolen bases while playing an exceptional defense.
Keith Hernandez, Gary Carter, John Franco and Wright are currently the only four players to be appointed captain in the history of the franchise.
