Former president Barack Obama Among the many who paid tribute to the renowned temple and the Chicago Cubs, Great Ryne Sandberg, who died this week after a long battle against cancer.
The former president published a tribute to Sandberg in a position on X early Tuesday morning.

“The faithful of the temple of fame and the cubs, Ryne Sandberg, was not only an excellent baseball player – he was a class act that never cheated on the game,” said the post. “Everyone in Chicago – including White Sox Fans – they will be deeply missing. “”

Obama, a fan known to White Sox, guest Cubs To visit the White House in the last days of its second presidency after winning the World Series in 2016.

Temple of fame, the beloved legend of Cubs Ryne Sandberg died at 65 years after the battle against cancer
Major League Baseball announced the death of Sandberg on Monday. He was 65 years old.
“Ryne Sandberg was a legend of the Chicago Cubs franchise and a beloved figure throughout the major baseball league. He was a five tool player who excelled in all the facets of the game thanks to his power, his speed and his work ethics. Ryne won 10 consecutive All-Star selections, nine consecutive gold gloves, seven light and 1984 MVP National League, “said Commissioner Rob Manfred in a statement.
“Ryne has remained active in the game he loved as an ambassador for cubs, a manager for phillies and in minor leagues, and a frequent participant in the renowned temple. His many friends through the game were in his corner while he fought cancer in recent years.

Sandberg received a diagnosis of metastatic prostate cancer in January 2024. In August of the same year, he announced that he was without cancer after undergoing chemotherapy and radiation.
In December, he revealed that cancer had returned and spread to other organs.
