The Yankees signed Stroman to a two -year contract before the 2024 season. If Stroman launched 140 rounds in 2025, he would have had a player option of $ 18 million for 2026.

The Yankees could have optionized the young launcher leaving Cam Schlittler to make room for the new weapons onwards, but the team rather decided to release Stroman.
