Karachi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi degenerated his rhetoric on Tuesday against Pakistan, saying that what had previously been considered to be wars of proxy constitute a “well thought out strategy” by Islamabad, and warning that India would respond “as a result” if it was confronted with acts of war, The news reported.
Addressing a ceremony in Gandhinagar, in Indian Gujarat, Modi invoked a nationalist account rooted in the historic grievances, promising an energetic response to what he described as acts of aggression calculated on the other side of the border.
“We cannot call this a proxy war because those who were killed after May 6 have received state honors in Pakistan. The Pakistani flags were draped on their coffins, and their soldiers greeted them.
Citing the Sindoor operation, Modi said that nine identified terrorist bases were destroyed in 22 minutes with complete camera documentation.
Modi has linked the current tensions to the historical heritage of the partition, declaring that “during the partition, Maa Bharati was divided in two, and that even evening, the first terrorist attack on cashmere was launched by the Mujahideen. If they had been eliminated then, these 75 years of suffering could have been avoided. ”
He continued to deplore how the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to “recover” the cashmere of Azad had not been followed, adding in a disturbing way: “No matter the force or the health of the body, even a single thorn can cause constant pain – and we decided that the thorn should be deleted”.
Referring to the repeated military meetings of India with Pakistan, Modi said: “Whenever India and Pakistan went to war, our Indian armed forces defeated them in a way that they would never forget. Realizing that they could never win a direct war against India, they turned to war by proxy, offering military training and support to terrorists instead. ”
In the midst of his aggressive posture, the Indian Prime Minister also decided to preach “world well-being”, saying that “India has always recommended peace and stability”.
He also discussed water resources problems in the Indians occupied by Jammu-et-Cachemire (IIOJK) and the Industry Water Treaty, which, according to him, had been “highlighted”, accusing the previous Indian governments of neglecting the maintenance of dams and water infrastructure.
Modi used the opportunity to also supervise the Sindoor operation as a national mission. “The Sindoor operation is not only a military initiative but a responsibility shared by all Indian citizens.”
The speech also included wider economic comments, modifying highlighting the rise of India to what it says is the world’s fourth economy.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Pakistan Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the remarks of the Indian Prime Minister, describing them as an “invocation of the violence focused on hatred” which establishes a “dangerous precedent … in a region already overwhelmed by volatility”.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the discourse represented “an imprudent provocation, intended to distract the ongoing abuses on human rights and demographic engineering in Indian illegally occupied Jammu-et-Cachemire”.
“The international community must take a serious note from the climbing of India,” said the press release.
