Interior Minister Mohin Naqvi had talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran, promising a stronger bilateral cooperation and expressing his solidarity on the recent Iranian conflict.
Naqvi congratulated President Pezeshkian for Iran’s “great victory” in the war and congratulated the management of the supreme chief of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling a source of pride for the Muslim world.
The Minister said Pakistan firmly sentenced the attack on Iran and was the first to adopt a parliamentary resolution supporting Iran’s law to self -defense. He also transmitted the greetings of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability.
President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for the support of Pakistan during the conflict and described the relationship between the two countries as “deep and historical”. He warned that the Zionist regime sought to divide Muslim countries and urged unity among Islamic nations.
Pezeshkian stressed the importance of diplomacy and constructive dialogue, saying that the two countries had the opportunity to expand cooperation in various sectors.
“The support extended by Pakistan during the war will not be forgotten,” he said, adding that unity among Muslim nations was essential to counter foreign interference.
The meeting was also followed by the Iranian Interior Minister, Eskandar Momeni, the special assistant of the president and the ambassadors of the two countries.
Earlier, the minister also attended a trilateral meeting of the interior ministers of Pakistan, Iran and Iraq, organized in Tehran.
The three countries have agreed to train a joint working group to facilitate pilgrim’s trips, Naqvi announcing that on January 1, 2026, Zaireen will only be authorized to visit Iraq by the means of officially registered group organizers.
