Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Mookie Betts has recently been Candide about his difficulties this season, saying that he feels that his “season is over”.
“My season is over,” he told The Athletic last weekend. “We are going to have to chalk for not an excellent season. But I can go out and help boys win every night, do something, get a product point, play a game, do something that – I will have to change my goal there.”
A production drought, especially for a Betts caliber player, can be difficult for the psyche. However, what helped his state of mind were the support not only of the clubhouse, but of those of the Dodger Stadium and beyond.

In fact, Dodgers fans recently orchestrated an ovation for Betts to show their appreciation and their support.
“I have never obtained an ovation to be bad,” said Betts to PK Press Club Digital, while discussing how his state of mind is helped by the new “Playa Sounds” by Corona, a first soundtrack of its kind which merges the emblematic sounds of the stadium and the beach. “I saw it, but never in a million years, I thought I would be the only one to get one. But I was.

“It is good to know that even if I cross what I go through, I am always embraced. It would be very easy for them to write to me and to say:” He did, he is washed – X, Y and Z. “It would seem horrible.
Betts between Wednesday’s match against the Los Angeles Angels reaching .242 / .313 / .370 with a .682 OPS, 12 circuits and 53 points produced on 120 games. All these brands are easily the worst of his career, to the point where he even recognized a potential task on his curriculum vitae of the temple of fame.
However, while the 2018 MVP al 2018 fought the tribulations of the 2025 season, the support of a clubhouse in the Tight Dodgers has greatly helped.
“I think it is probably the most important outside of you,” he said when they asked him about his teammates and coaches behind him. “The simple fact of knowing that no matter what you do, good or bad, your boys have you. They are the ones who are with you literally every day. You are with these guys more than you are with your family. You are with these guys for eight months essentially. They know everything about you – more about you than really your family. Knowing that they have always obtained you, and they are fighting with you, it’s just a nice thing.
“It’s just huge to have veterans who did it, maybe not to the same extent that I cross it-or maybe worse. To know that their point of view helps you, their support helps you, and whatever happens, they will be there for you. It certainly helped me to move forward.”

Betts has evolved recently, having a sequence of seven successful games during its section of 12 for 30 (0.400) in marble during this period. He had two doubles in this section, and more importantly, he launched his first circuit in more than a month on August 8 against the Blue Jays in Toronto.
As Betts said, “you don’t want to turn on a state of mind and then be in a head space different from the one you have played for six, seven months.” However, the intensity only goes up because the dodgers are in a tight race NL West with the Padres of San Diego on equality at the top of the division entering on Wednesday. As the title champions of the World Series, the Dodgers obviously want to defend the title entering in October.
It is an unexplored territory for Betts, but knowing that he has the team and the city of Los Angeles behind him, perhaps, helps him turn the corner at the right time with the playoffs.
Enter the flow state with Corona
While Betts progresses, having a quiet, but intense mentality, is the key, especially when the playoffs arrive.
Betts helped Corona, the official “Cerveza” of MLB, to create “Playa sounds”, selecting specific moments from the playoffs to associate with soothing beach sounds which help him enter this “state of flow”.

“I was able to choose a few moments in large swings, big blows, big playoffs, then you associate them with the beach sounds. These waves crash, it puts you just in the middle where you are ready for something intense, but you are also relaxed in order to be able to do everything that is,” said Betts. “Because you don’t want to be too intense when you enter these intense moments – you don’t want to fight the fire with the fire. So I really have the impression that these sounds put you well between the two.
“It really helped and puts me in a good spirit.”
