- Some key details of the folding iPhone have disclosed
- Expect four cameras, two colors and Touch ID
- We will probably see the launch of the handset in 2026
At this point, it seems almost certain that Apple will bring out a foldable iPhone in September 2026, and we just have a few details on what to expect an Apple prediction which is generally more reliable than most.
This prediction is Mark Gurman in Bloomberg, who says that the Apple folding phone will use the tactile identifier rather than on face identification. Although all current iPhones now use the Face ID, the thought is that the required sensors would add too much thickness to the foldable.
Apple will therefore go with Touch ID to keep the device as thin as possible, says Gurman, and there will be no SIM card niche for the same reason – it will only be ESIM. The previous leaks predicted that the phone will have a thickness of 4.8 mm when it is unfolded, compared to the 4.2 mm of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
This last report also indicates that we will get four cameras on the folding iPhone: one on the outdoor screen, one on the interior screen and two at the rear (which will both be cameras of 48 Mp, according to a previous rumor).
Stand up
If we believe the previous reports, one of the reasons why a foldable iPhone has taken so long is that Apple is very eager to make the screen as invisible as possible, and it seems that the company now has a display configuration with which it is satisfied.
According to Gurman, the folding iPhone will use what is called a cell screen in a cell, with an integrated screen and a scanning layer. This would make screen technology similar to what we have on current iPhone models, guaranteeing a “less obvious” fold and improving tactile precision.
Other reports of the report: The folding iPhone will be available in black or white and will include the own Apple C2 Modem chip which should make its debut in the iPhone 17 (and which should lead to an improvement in the efficiency and the life of the battery).
Gurman says that the foldable iPhone will be a “game changer” for Apple, and his conviction is that anyone who goes to a folding iPhone will not want to go back. First of all, we obtained the launch of the iPhone 17 of this year to come next month.
