- More iPhone 17 pro Max images appear
- They are apparently “engineering models”
- We may not get a black version this year
A Big Apple event is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, and we expect four iPhone 17 models to be unveiled. With only days to go, leaks continue, including new images from the iPhone 17 Pro Max
These images were published by a well -known Tipster @universeice and are described as “engineering models”. We don’t know exactly what it means, but we can assume that these phones show the final design of Apple’s most expensive iPhone 17 model.
Another treat of this post is that there may not be a black version of the iPhone 17 Pro Max (which probably applies to the iPhone 17 Pro too). Titanium colors available for The iPhone 16 Pro Max is black, white, natural and desert.
The colors illustrated here are a bright orange and a dark blue, which were both rumor previously. Presumably, more subtle colors will also be offered, even if black is not – Apple can replace it with a dark gray or something similar.
Black is the color
This is the photo closest to the entire Internet of the real iPhone 17 Pro Max. These are models of engineering machines. This time there is no black version, only this dark blue. pic.twitter.com/okzhluitc5September 7, 2025
There is another possibility here, that the expression “this time there is no black version, only this dark blue” refers to this particular leak, rather than to the color iPhone 17 pro max in general. On the basis of previous leaks, it actually seems more plausible.
Indeed, we have already seen dummy units showing the iPhone 17 pro in black. All of these disclosed images also show the overhaul of the rear panel, with a larger camera bump that has long been rumoring for a long time.
We will leave you how you want to interpret this, but since iPhones are almost always available in black – including the standard iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16th that was launched in February – it would be a surprise if it was not offered.
We will know it with certainty to come, when the phones are revealed, as well as new smart watches and headphones. It all starts at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. He / 6 p.m. BST (3 a.m. on September 10), and you can watch live.
