More than 100 Lahore police officers have been rejected from their positions for persistent absenteeism and the refusal to perform their functions.
This unprecedented action marks the first time in the history of the city that such a large number of officers have been rejected simultaneously.
Sources have confirmed that the officers, who were part of the riot force, were rejected on the orders of DIG operations because of their inability to present themselves. The names of the licensed officers, including Atiq, Zein, Ali, Shiraz, Shan, Zubair and Adeel, were recorded in the official report.
The officers proved to be absent from their duty on numerous occasions, several others refusing to perform their assigned tasks. Some officers even apologized to avoid coming to work.
The authorities stressed that such a negligence towards duty and the lack of responsibility would not be tolerated in force, claiming that there is no room for officers who do not fill their professional obligations.
