More than 126,500 students to appear in annual examinations

The first phase of Karachi’s annual intermediate exams for 2025 should start on Monday May 5, with more than 126,500 students who are expected to appear in various groups of domestic economics and economics. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), Ghulam Hussain Sohoo, said that all the arrangements for fair and transparent exams had been finalized.

The exams will take place until Thursday, May 29, in the morning and evening quarters. More than 92,000 students from pre-drug, pre-engineering and domestic economic groups will take their exams in the morning quarter, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while more than 34,500 candidates of the general scientific group will appear in the evening, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A total of 182 examination centers were created throughout the city; 122 for the morning and 60 for the evening. Among these, 36 centers were declared very sensitive.

Two central surveillance cells were also created at the Karachi commissioner’s office, with Biek to supervise the process and prevent cheating. In addition, complaint cells will operate with the offices of assistant commissioners in each district, with representatives of the board of directors.

Given the heat waves forecasts during the examination period, the board of directors wrote to the Sindh 1122 emergency and rescue service, requesting two ambulances for the central control room. The Sindh health service was also invited to install first aid camps and ensure that first aid kits and ambulances are available outside each exam center.
