Rawalpindi:
To ensure smooth and secure movements during Youm-E-Ashura processions, the Rawalpindi traffic police published a detailed plan, deployment of more than 930 officers and staff across the city.
The arrangements, supervised by the superior traffic officer, bring Hashmi, aim to manage the movements of the heavy crowd and to prevent the congestion of traffic during the one -day event.
The deployment includes a higher traffic officer, ten assistant police superintendents (DSP), 72 senior traffic guards and around 850 traffic guards and assistants. Authorities have prepared special traffic diversions and road closings along the main procession routes to maintain order and security.

On Ashura, traffic will be completely blocked on the section of Chowk committee in Iqbal Road. A complete diversion will be in place at the Dav College Chowk, with the entrance to College Road restricted. When the procession reaches Naya Mohalla, the access of the Dav College Chowk in Fawara Chowk will also be closed.
Traffic director, Beenish Fatima, assured the public that infallible traffic safety measures would be implemented. She explained that public service vehicles will be redirected by Dav College Chowk, while private vehicles will be diverted from Gawalmandi via Dhok Kumhar to Bhusa Gadam.
A secondary diversion at the Mashriq hotel on City Saddar Road will guide traffic to Saddar and Mohanpura through Cinema Chowk and Ganjmandi Road to Pirwadhai.

Additional diversions include the closure of all the Chowk cinema traffic at the Kashmir bazaar, redirecting vehicles via the transit camp to Saddar. Near the city police station, traffic will be guided on Ganjmandi Road, then to Dhok Hassu and Pirwadhai.
The roads on Shah Allah Ditta Road will be diverted by Dhok Dalal, Hospital TB, Pirwadhai and Asghar Mall. Near Bakery Chowk, the vehicles will be redirected to Banni Chowk and Link Road, moving by Saidpur Road and Circular Road to Liaqat Bagh via Murriere Road.

The diversions will also be applied to Hamilton Chowk and Bansowala Chowk, with a limited entrance near Dingi Khoi and the Grande Mosque. Trafficking towards Imambargah Baltistanie via Pir Choha Chowk will be completely blocked.
For processions from the satellite city, traffic will be diverted to several points, including the New Town police station, the Punjab College of Commerce, the Hayat Wali Hospital, the nursing home Aziz, Banni Chowk and Kohati Bazar.
The CTO Fatima urged citizens to cooperate with the traffic authorities and to follow the instructions for their safety. She also asked agents to remain vigilant and ensure a smooth traffic flow thanks to coordinated efforts, while advising the public to contact the emergency portal if necessary.
