- Dacora is the first melted automotive brand and LED
- The first model was designed with the Pininfarina group
- Swappable padding is only one of the many unique features
Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Mercedes-Maybach… Soon you can add another name, although much less recognizable to this list of the most luxurious car manufacturers in the world. The American start-up Dacora is there and wants a piece of the ultra-high birth pie.
Founded in the New York Hudson valley by engineers trained at MIT Kristie and Eric d’Ambrosio-Correll, the emerging brand is the first of its kind to be founded and led by a woman CEO, as well as the first to have the confidence to order $ 500,000 (around £ 370,000 / at £ 770,000) for an electric vehicle highly by hundreds of years.
The price is fixed as such because Dacora claims that each vehicle is “meticulously handmade” using American components and materials.
The design inspired by the 1930s, produced in collaboration with the famous Pininfarina group of Italy, pays tribute to the glamor streamliners of the golden age of Hollywood.
Long caps, curved wings and the option of specifying real inlays of metal and hard wood outside are only some of the stylistic discussion points.
Inside, you will not find unpleasant plastics or cheapful rough surfaces, because Dacora only turns to natural wood, leather and wool woven for its interiors.
In fact, the company claims that there will be twice annual “drops” which will allow customers to completely exchange interior fabrics with changing seasons – wool for winter, linen for summer, for example.
The first unnamed start model will be available with everything, configurations from three to seven places, with each seat including its own independent lighting and climate controls.
Money no object

Dacora wants to bring us back to a time when driving was a sensory experience, so abandoned the predominance cockpit of today’s screen, based on a single display without tacs to take care of the infotainment tasks.
When not used, this screen apparently disappears behind a semi-transparent wooden panel, while all the controls are mechanical. Completely the analog movement for two engineers trained at MIT.
Regarding performances, Dacora has not yet announced the exact details of the Motopropulser EV group, but says that it aims more than 800 hp and an all -electric beach of 400 miles projected. There will also be the option of a hybrid powertrain on request.
Analysis: Follow the chic competition
The co-founder and CEO Kristie d’Ambrosio-Correll was the former CTO of Mirror, a intelligent fitness product that turned out to be a popular lifestyle with the very rich.
Building on this plan, Dacora will open its Hudson Valley garage of 100 acres next year, with a production on site, a design workshop and rooms for customers. Each car will be a tailor -made personal commission, with the brand designer on site to guide them throughout the process.
Customers will also be able to benefit from organized events, “immersive experiences” and all other things that the rich like to fill their free time.
Dacora will have this side of things, because the first images of the vehicle reveal a style of division and half a million US dollars buy a lot of Rolls-Royce, which remains the last word automobile opulence and the ultimate show of wealth.
