An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at the residence of Pakistan Tehreek-E-insaf (PTI) MPA Dr Hamid ur Rehman in the Khar de Bajaur region early Thursday morning, causing significant material damage but no loss of life, confirmed the police.
The device, planted at the door of the legislator’s house near the district headquarters (DHQ), exploded around 4:50 am.
According to officials, Dr. Rehman – who is also chairman of the PK -19 District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) – was not present at the time.
Police sources have said that the powerful explosion had destroyed the house front door. A police team reached the site shortly after and collected forensic evidence. An official survey was launched.
In a statement to the media, Dr. Rehman expressed his relief that no one was injured. “Thank goodness, everyone is safe. He who protects is greater than those who wish to harm. May Allah keep us away from these incidents,” he said.
He swore to continue his public service. “God wants, I will continue to work for peace and development in my region.”
Yesterday, it was announced that the security forces will lead to intelligence -based operations (IBOS) to eliminate militant threats to Bajaur while minimizing civil suffering, officials said.
The rally has been summoned in response to a recent wave of terrorist attacks in Bajaur who have made multiple civil lives in the past two months.
The Jirga brought together senior government and police officials, military representatives, Bajaur political figures, former tribal and religious scholars to discuss the deterioration of the security situation in the region.
Reunion officials promised that Bajaur would be rid of activism to make way for stability, prosperity and long -term sustainable development.
The security forces have assured that future operations would be precise and focused on intelligence to avoid unnecessary difficulties for the local population.
