Earlier, American Media reported that US President Donald Trump had presented his plan to put an end to the Gaza War, publish the remaining hostages and rehabilitate the band under the domination of non-Hamas during a multilateral meeting with the leaders of eight Arab and Muslims.
Trump has also sworn not to authorize Israel to annex the West Bank, according to reports.
Certain parts of the plan presented by Trump at Tuesday’s meeting are based on a proposal designed by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
While the Blair Plan focuses on Gaza’s post-war management, the plan presented by Trump also describes how the war itself would end, imagining a cease-fire of several weeks during which the 48 remaining hostages would be released, one of the Arab diplomats said.
President Trump promised the Arab leaders that he would not let Israel annex the occupied West Bank, reported politico on Wednesday, citing six families with the issue.
Two people described Trump as being firm on the subject at their meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, politico reported. Two other familiar with the issue, reported Politico, said the American team had presented a white paper describing the Trump administration plan to end the Gaza War, including the promise against the annexation of the West Bank.
