The MWC (Mobile World Congress) technology exhibition is undoubtedly one of the most important of the year. It brings together the biggest names in tech, crowds of people working in the industry, and plenty of journalists, including the hard-working TechRadar team.
Every year, the Barcelona-based event is used to showcase a wide range of gadgets and other technology, and we’ve been busy catching up on all the news and announcements. Below you’ll find our pick of the best pieces of hardware we’ve come across so far.
1. Nothing Phone 4a
Nothing smartphones usually can’t be counted on to be affordable, innovative, and stylish, and the Nothing Phone 4a series looks set to continue those traditions. We got a first look at the handset at MWC and the four colors it will be available in.
There’s only so much you can say about a phone when it’s behind a glass case, so we’re hoping to get to spend some time with it sooner rather than later. In the meantime, see if you can choose your favorite shade: black, blue, white or pink. The full announcement is expected to be made on March 5.
2. Honor the robot phone
The Honor Robot Phone is certainly one of the most unusual handsets we’ve come across in Barcelona – or anywhere. It has a built-in camera on a small robotic arm, which can extend whenever you want to capture photos or videos.
Thanks to this robotic arm, the camera can follow you and whatever you do, so it’s like a high-end webcam or vlogging camera that you can take with you anywhere. Think of a DJI Pocket 4 built into your phone. However, we’re still waiting to find out when it will go on sale and how much it will cost.
3. Snapdragon Wear Elite
We always get a chipset story or three at MWC, and for 2026, Qualcomm has revealed the Snapdragon Wear Elite. This high-end piece of silicon will soon appear in all sorts of wearable devices, including smartwatches and various AI-powered gadgets.
What makes the Snapdragon Wear Elite special is the amount of processing it can do on its own, without sending anything back to the cloud, meaning faster response times for everything you do. It also brings improvements in power and efficiency.
4. Lenovo Legion Go Fold concept
We’ve never had better in terms of gaming handhelds than we do today, and Lenovo is hoping to capture a share of the market with the new Lenovo Legion Go Fold – although for now, it remains a concept product rather than something you can actually buy.
As the name suggests, this handheld folds: it has a 7.7-inch screen when closed and an 11.6-inch screen when open. You then place the controllers on either side, and off you go. There are some pretty decent specs under the hood too.
5. Leica Leitzphone
Camera veteran Leica has unveiled the Leitzphone, made in partnership with Xiaomi. This is the first Leica camera to be released globally – although it looks like the US may miss out on it, unfortunately – and it will certainly appeal to serious mobile photographers.
The main camera on the back of the Leitzphone has a 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor, along with LOFIC technology which should ensure more natural-looking shots. There’s also a manual ring around the camera, which we really like, that allows you to manually adjust the camera settings.
6. Honor Magic V6
We’ve seen foldable phones before, but the Honor Magic V6 sets the bar even higher. Not only is it the thinnest foldable phone released to date, but it also comes with an IP69 rating for excellent protection against water and dust – no easy task for a handset with a foldable hinge.
Other specs you’ll want to know about are the 6,660mAh battery, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and stylus support. With an interior screen that measures 7.95 inches from corner to corner, it’s a true rival to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.
7. Moto Buds 2
Motorola used MWC Barcelona to launch the Moto Buds 2 and Moto Buds 2 Plus wireless earbuds, and there’s a lot to like about them, including the audio quality designed in partnership with Bose that you get with the Plus earbuds.
We have active noise cancellation (ANC) on both models, and these headphones are very reasonably priced (although we’re still waiting for full availability details). Battery life is another strong point, both with and without the charging cases.
8. ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept
Back to Lenovo, and the company also demonstrated a ThinkBook Modular AI PC concept here at MWC. It comes with not one but two screens, and they’re detachable – so several different display configurations are possible, not just that of a standard laptop.
You essentially get two mini-monitors to go along with your keyboard (and the rest of the laptop), and this will definitely appeal to those looking for more flexibility on the go. For now, it is unclear whether this intriguing concept will ever be put into production.
