The National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on Monday claiming the country’s commitment to peace, but warning that any violation of its sovereignty or security would be greeted by a firm and decisive response.
The resolution rejected what she called “frivolous and baseless” attempts to connect Pakistan to the attack on Pahalgam in Jammu-et-Cachemire occupied by the Indians (Iiojk). He condemned the “orchestrated and malafid campaign” of India to slander Pakistan for political purposes.
The house reiterated Pakistan’s position against terrorism in all its forms and said that the murder of innocent civilians was contrary to the values supported by the Pakistani state.
In a strong reprimand of recent Indian actions, the resolution also condemned New Delhi’s unilateral decision to suspend the Industry Water Treaty, describing it as “blatant violation” which is equivalent to an act of war.
“Pakistan remains fully capable and ready to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression, including war, terrorism or military provocation,” said resolution. He quoted Pakistan’s military response to India’s actions in February 2019 as proof of his preparation.
The resolution required India to be held responsible for its presumed involvement in terrorism and targeted assassinations on foreign soils, including Pakistan. He concluded by reaffirming the political, moral and diplomatic support of Pakistan to the right of the cashmere people to self -determination.
The opposition chief Omar Ayub warned that any Indian aggression against Pakistan would have serious consequences, declaring that India would be “destroyed” if it launched an attack. He urged the government to transmit a firm and unambiguous message to New Delhi in the midst of increasing regional tensions.
Ayub issued a striking warning against Indian provocation and criticized the government’s response as weak and clear. “The government of Narendra Modi is able to launch an assault at any time,” he said. “Pakistan must send a clear message: if India initiates a mishap, it will be erased.”
The opposition chief described Pahalgam’s incident as a false flag operation, noting that the attack occurred more than 450 kilometers from the Pakistani border and had no connection with the country. “We condemn the incident, but Pakistan has never been involved in such acts,” he said.
Ayub called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for having offered an international investigation. “If we had no role, why offer an investigation?” Doesn’t that imply the admission of guilt? ” He asked. He warned that any future conflict with India, although maybe brief, would be devastating in intensity.
He also accused India of degenerating tensions by testing Brahmos missiles and urged the government of adopting a firm position. “If India breaks the Industry Water Treaty, this is equivalent to a declaration of war-and we must respond accordingly,” he said.
Ayub also praised the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying: “This nation needs a leader like Imran Khan, who had the courage to shoot down Indian planes and send a message to Modi, the Hitler today.”
