ISLAMABAD:
The work of the National Assembly was adjourned without debate on Friday after the government failed to guarantee a quorum. The session, chaired by Vice President Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, began with question hour.
At the start of the proceedings, opposition MP Iqbal Afridi sought permission to raise a point of order regarding the protests by residents of the erstwhile Fata region, which now forms the merged districts of KP.
When authorization was not granted, he pointed out the lack of quorum. A membership count confirmed that the required number of lawmakers were not present.
