The national database and the registration authority (NADRA) has rationalized the process of obtaining certificates of succession, which makes citizens a lot to claim inheritance rights, in conclusion to the Pakistan Associated Press.
A new notification issued on Tuesday indicates that legal heirs can now submit requests for succession certificates in one of the 186 Certificate of Succession (SFFU) established through Pakistan.
These units are located in the centers of Nadra in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balutchistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, independently of the place where the inherited property is located.

In order to improve convenience, the biometric verification process has also been improved. Legal heirs can now complete the biometric process either in their nearest designated Nadra center, or remotely via the PAK ID mobile application.
Previously, the candidates had to file certificates of succession in the province where the inherited property was located, which created challenges for the heirs living in other provinces. While Nadra had previously introduced a mobile biometric verification, requests were still to be submitted in the province where the property was.
With the new initiative, Nadra has removed this restriction, allowing citizens to start and finish the process of anywhere in Pakistan. A nadra spokesperson has confirmed that official notifications had been sent to all Nadra centers with SFUS to ensure that citizens can access the nearest location.
