Final Fantasy 14’s The legendary director and producer Naoki Yoshida discussed his role in the game in a new interview.
Perhaps better known as Yoshi-P, Yoshida acknowledges that although he is working on other Square Enix projects, he still plans to continue working on the MMORPG for a long time “for at least a good time”.
Addressing Noisy Pixel in Pax West, Yoshida had the following to say about his working time on the game:
“People tend to say that we are creative or creative, but I am an employee of Square Enix and I receive money to make games, and I think that my main goal is to make games so that we deliver it to players, fans, players who want to consume our product.”
“I think it is fundamental or a minimum requirement that I have because I belong to this company,” he added, describing himself as “more than one businessman” than one of the creations behind Final Fantasy 14.
Yoshida explained that he could not be bored to work on the project because there is even more than he wanted to add to the game, which was launched in 2010 but was relaunched under his direction in 2013.
“I do not think because there are a lot of things that I have not yet updated in 14, things that I want to do, things that I have to do, things that need to be taken care of,” he said.
“And so I think that for at least a good time, I should go well,” he added, while jokingly, he wants to do less “management or operational” and help the design of game development more.
