NAP Panel Reviews measures to combat terrorism

Islamabad:

Federal Minister of Law Azam Nazeer Tarar chaired on Thursday the inaugural meeting of a committee formed within the framework of a revised national action plan (NAP) in the midst of a recent increase in terrorism in the country on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The committee was created to assess the measures to combat terrorism, tackle violent extremism and fill the legal shortcomings.

The meeting was followed by ministers of provincial law and the federal secretary to the law, who appreciated the reforms of criminal justice of the federal government. It was collectively decided to work on legal reforms on an urgent basis to ensure rapid justice.
