Naqvi visits Wana Cadet College after foiled terror attack

He hails security forces as “national heroes”, meets students and professors and promises university renovation

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday visited the Wana Cadet College, where security forces recently foiled a terrorist attack.

Naqvi was received by Inspector General of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Border Corps (South), Major General Mehr Umar Khan. During his visit, Naqvi met Pakistan Army officers who repelled the terrorist attack and rescued all the cadets and teachers.

The minister also interacted with students of the college, as well as faculty members, commending their courage and morale following the incident.

Naqvi was briefed on the operation and evacuation, praising the staff for their professionalism. He described all personnel involved as “national heroes”, calling their actions “an exemplary display of courage and expertise”.

Regarding the attack, the minister said: “They are not just terrorists, they are beasts with no connection to humanity.” “No religion allows the targeting of children, and these animals follow no religion,” he added.

Recalling the 2014 Military Public School tragedy, Naqvi said the cadet college attackers aimed to commit a similar atrocity, but swift and decisive action by security forces “sent the terrorists to hell and foiled their conspiracy.”

He announced that the college would soon be renovated and restored, reiterating the government’s determination to stand with the armed forces to defend the region’s educational institutions.
