Karachi: Naseer Soomro, one of the largest men in the world, died Monday in the Sindh district of Sindh at the age of 55, confirmed his brother Riaz.
According to Riaz, Naseer has suffered from a lung disease for several months and underwent treatment at home. His funeral prayers will be offered to Shah Muhala, Shikarpur today (Tuesday).
Naseer measured seven feet and nine inches and was considered one of the highest people in the world. Due to his large stature, Naseer was even employed by the national airline.
He drew attention to Pakistan around the world because of his extraordinary size.
In a press release, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sadness in the face of the greatest person in Pakistan.
He prayed for the elevation of the rows of the disappeared soul and for strength and patience for the bereaved family.
“At the moment of sorrow, the whole nation is united with the family of Naseer Soomro,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz. “May Allah have made patience to the family of the late Naseer Soomro. Ameen.”
The Sindh -chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, and Governor Kamran Tessori, as well as several leaders of various political parties and elected officials from Shikarpur, expressed sorrow as to the disappearance of the largest man in the country.
