National Afghan involved in terrorism killed in the operation: ISPR

An Afghan national involved in terrorism in Pakistan was killed in an operation carried out by security forces in the Datta Khel region in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa district, in the Waziristan district on February 6, according to a press release Public Relations Internestitutions (ISPR) on Saturday.

The individual was then identified as Luqman Khan, also known as Nusrat, son of Kamal Khan, a resident of the Spera district, Khost province, in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has approached the Acting Afghan government to take over the body of the individual as Afghan citizen, the ISPR said in its press release.

“Such incidents are irrefutable evidence of the involvement of Afghan nationals in terrorist activities in Pakistan. The acting Afghan government should fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists to perpetuate acts of terrorism against Pakistan, “the statement added.

Pakistan has repeatedly called upon the Afghan authorities to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks within its borders, a continuous point of tension between the two countries.

The security forces killed three activists in an intelligence -based operation (IBO) in the Datta Khel region in northern Waziristan, according to an ISPR statement on Friday. The operation, carried out on the night of February 6 to 7, followed intelligence reports indicating the presence of activists in the region.

The army media wing said that during the operation, the troops managed to target the location of the activists, leading to the elimination of three terrorists. Activists would have tried to flee when he was disguised in burqas.

The deceased terrorists were found in possession of weapons and ammunition. According to the ISPR, they participated in several terrorist activities in the region. After the operation, a disinfection mission is currently underway to eliminate remaining threats in the region.
