Hundreds of Pakistani rallied across the country on Thursday, especially at the cashmere of the Azad, to protest against the threats of India reprisals following a deadly attack against civilians in Indian illegally occupied the Jammu and the cashmere (iiojk) on Tuesday.

The demonstrations intervened after the Indian Prime Minister Narendra amended promised to “continue and punish” the authors of Tuesday assault in Pahalgam, who killed 26 civilians and was the deadliest attack in the contested region in more than two decades. Modi accused Pakistan of supporting what he described as a “cross -border terrorism”.

“If India wants to go to war, then manifestly manifest itself,” said Ajmal Baloch, a demonstrator in Lahore, near the main border crossing, where some 700 people gathered in a rally organized by a religious political party.

The demonstrations were partly triggered by the announcement of India to suspend the Water Treaty of the Indus, a critical agreement to manage the rivers shared between the two neighbors with nuclear arms.

“Water is our law and, to God, we will recover it, even if it means by war,” said the 25 -year -old Muhammad Owais demonstrator in Lahore. “We will not back down.”

In Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Cashmere, around 300 demonstrators walked with signs carrying anti-Indian slogans.

“If India is making the mistake of attacking, the Pakistani cashmicis will fight on the front line,” said Shoukat Javed Mir, a senior leader of the Pakistani People’s Party in the region. “We are ready to die for Pakistan.”

In Quetta, the provincial capital of Balutchistan, around 150 people joined a demonstration to denounce the rhetoric of India and express their solidarity with the Kashmiris.

Meanwhile, the National National Security Committee of Pakistan (NSC) warned that any attempt by India to block water flow in Pakistan would be treated as an act of war.

The press release follows a high -level NSC meeting on Thursday, which also approved the closure of the Wagah border passage. The measures have been announced in response to a series of aggressive measures taken by India.
