Lahore:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif informed the President of the PML-N Nawaz Sharif on Sunday on the decisions taken by the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) following the suspension of the Industry Water Treaty (IWT) by India following a militant attack in the Pahalgam region of Held cashmere.

Shehbaz called Nawaz at their family residence in Jati Omra with the chief minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, also present. Shehbaz informed his older brother concerning the decision taken by the Apex organ and the preparing of the country to respond to any aggression with greater force.

The PM would have told his older brother that Pahalgam was another operation of false flag of the Indians to create instability in the region. He said that India’s unilateral decision to suspend the TRA had strengthened the risk of war in the region.

He said Pakistan is attached to peace, but the country’s security was not negotiable.

According to a PML-N source, Nawaz Sharif wants his government to use all diplomatic resources available to restore peace between the two nuclear armed states. He said Nawaz was not eager to take an aggressive position.

Earlier in the day, the Minister of Defense, Khawaja Asif, proposed India to form an international commission-including officials from the United States, Iran, China, Russia and Great Britain to investigate the incident, declaring that if that happens, Pakistan will give birth to the facts.

He said tensions between two nuclear armed states pose a risk for the stability of the whole world, stressing the need for the international community to take stock of increasing tensions.

“Although knowing that it is an operation of false flag, we are ready to work with such a commission to close the curtains on this drama. However, India will attend our preparation, if it goes forward with a mishap,” he added.
